YOU ARE BUYING ONE COMPLETE & UNOPENED RACE SET, IN THIS LISTING. RELEASED JUNE 2010, from Mattel Toys is this is the LONDON CITY RACE SET # V0163 BASED ON THE LONDON CITY MOVIE SCENES. At 9 feet, It is a Little Bigger Track than basic.
INTERESTING TO THIS SET, it is the first "Lightning McQueen" & "Francesco Bernoulli" vehicles to have PAPER DECALS! Usually the details were painted-tampos on past CARS versions; this release are very good quality stickers; & a Lot of Them! That should make clean vehicles worth a premium in the future.
Lightning McQueen changes include a Huge'ish 'WorldGrandPrix' sticker & an overall busier graphics package. The F-1 Indy is, well, Italia Labeled & Flagged #1, big bold & lots of red white & green! The Indy is a Narrow (Stamped!) 440-X2 China, while the wide McQueen Vehicle is stamped HPX2 (china.) Both vehicles feature solid filled wheels with gray under McQueen & Ferrari Red under Francesco!- of course- NICE TO SEE THE OLD NARROW 440-X2; MAYBE THE GREATEST CHASSIS OF ALL TIME. Both armatures appear red. The Wide Chassis has an adjustable wheel base; the narrow chassis is only short wheel base. On the ones i have looked at, the narrow chassis have a deep guide pin, while the wide Lightning has a short guide pin. Both chassis have the accommodation for a rear guide pin. Tires all appear typical rubber & could use an upgrade right out of the box on the rears!
The vehicles should run on most any HO scale race set from Aurora, TOMY, TYCO, Marchon, LifeLike, Atlas, etc. Nice Dirt to Pavement Transition Tracks & the 4-D Battery pack can be upgraded to a 6-D Battery size box or you can go to Electric Transformer, but that requires upgraded controls as well. VERY FLEXIBLE & EXPANDABLE HO 1/64TH RACING SYSTEM.
